Fanfare please....It's my first giveaway! Yipeeeeeee!!!!! and other things.

This week I have had great fun making christmas decorations and some jewellery.  I cant show you the jewellery as I dont seem to be able to get any more photos on this post without making others disappear, very strange!  I am now high on soldering fumes and my fingers are black from the flux but is it worth it what do you all think??

It has all made me feel very christmassy and nostalgic, I remember as a child we always seemed to have snow in the winter, staying out to long till your fingers and toes froze in wet mittens and wellies then rushing in to thaw your hands out under the hot tap, the burning warmth as feeling returned in them.  I love snow and now we live in the least likely place to get snow in the UK, sigh!

I used some lovely old glass buttons to adorn some of these hanging dainties with chandelier drops and mother of pearl buttons to0.

Do di do di do do dooooo!!!!!!! (My go at typing a fanfare!)

Here is the give away.  This little chap has been sat on my desk watching me work all week and is now waiting to pack up his little bag of goodies and head for a new home.   But I do want you to do something for him, so if you post me a comment telling me about a treasured childhood christmas memory I will get E to choose one and they will get this little boy.  Look forward to hearing from you.  I will tell who has one in my next post on Tuesday 11th so you have a bit of time.

Your new Christmas decorations are just wonderful!

I think your bunny friend would like to come home with me!!

One of my most treasured Christmas memories is probably when my son was 3 & insisted on sleeping under the Christmas tree in his little sleeping bag as he wanted to see Santa. Luckily he was a very sound sleeper so "unfortunately" missed saying hello to Santa when he came down the chimney!
I have a photo somewhere.....

I am positive absolutley positive that when I was a little girl, living in the country with my parents, when all was silent at night and you werent constantly reminded of the outside world with zooming cars, I heard the bells on Santas sleigh. I crept out of bed and peeped out at the dark blue black sky but all I could see was twinkling stars. The next morning I went downstairs to find a beautiful Chad Valley rocking Donkey - which I still have today. It must have cost Mum and Dad a fortune....... with love from Helen

Your Christmas decorations are so creative and original, Love them!! I grew up in the country and my fondest memory was going out into the woods behind our house to choose a Christmas tree every year. I remember it fondly because we always ended up with a scruffy tree, missing a few branches and some hollow spots in it. We would cover it with tons of decorations and then it became the most magnificent tree ever(to us). We still laugh about our trees!

I had a passion for dolls and would constantly dress them up and create cameos with them. One Christmas I awoke in the middle of the night and switched on my bedside lamp to find all my dolls sat at the end of the bed and in a child size silver cross pram.. dressed in knitted twin sets, bobble hats and scarves.. a whole new wardrobe of knitted clothes. My darling mother had commissioned an elderly neighbour friend to knit my dolls a new winter wardrobe.. It was magical and I will never forget the sight of all my fashionable dolls sat at the end of the bed in their finery.

Hi Jane,
i remember waking up on Christmas day and finding and opening our stockings... which were always one of my mothers thin nylon stockings. It still amazes me how she got the LP's in. We always had a satsuma (in the toe), some tissues, some smellies, nuts, an LP an annual (twinkle or Bunty or Jackie), underwear and notelets (to write our thank you notes with) ... a very practical mother we have.
thank you for prompting this memory.
See you soon .. not long till the VHFair.Best wishes Ginny xx

what fabulous christmas decs they are so original hope you are selling them at the fair.....
a not so good childhood christmas memory for me was being shown all the presents neatly hidden in the bottom of my parents wardrobe, by (at that time) my horrid big brother that thought he was being very grown up, he went on to have a son of his own that loved to have Father Christmas call on Christmas Eve and has said how sorry he was to have shattered my dreams of Santa. (I love him really)

I have so many treasured memories. However I'll always remember when I was 4 my sister snuck into the lounge early on Christmas morning and came back to tell me what presents Father Christmas had delivered! I had a beautiful dolls house which my grandparents had made and furnished for me. Happy days.
